History-
The Phipps House, located at 3400 Belcaro Drive is the main historic
and grand attraction to this neighborhood. Lawrence C. Phipps,
treasurer of Carnegie Steel and a U.S. Senator bought the land and paid
Charles A. Platt and sons to design the spacious 33,123-square foot
Georgian mansion in 1932. Belcaro is Italian for “beautiful dear one.”
In 1964, the mansion was donated to the University of Denver and now
serves as a museum and conference center.
Recreation- The Belcaro
neighborhood is in proximity to Cherry Creek, the Denver Country Club,
and downtown Denver which makes it one of the city’s most desirable
neighborhoods to live in.
